Spoon-billed Sandpiper
It is always a special experience visiting Meinypil'gyno where Birds Russia (the Russian Birdlife partner) and the Spoon-billed Sandpiper Taskforce monitor the fifteen or so pairs of Spoon-billed Sandpipers which breed there.
I have been lucky enough to visit this site annually from 2011-13 and on each occasion, we have been privileged to visit a nest of this critically endangered bird.
