Steller's Sea-eagle
This species is surely one of the world's ultimate raptors and it is not uncommon at various locations along the Russian coastline, although it is absent in the far north. Probably the best place to see this stunning bird is the Zhupanova River (80 or so miles north of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, the main town on Kamchatka) where I have never failed to see it in something like seven visits and we regularly see upwards of a dozen individuals.
