Macaroni Penguin
Although many visitors to Antarctica hope to see Macaroni Penguins, in practice they are far from common although there are a few spots where they can be found with a degree of regularity in the South Shetland Islands. This shot was taken at Half Moon Island in February 2013 when one of the regular birds was undertaking its moult and was looking decidedly scruffy !!
